Chilly Chilton is a ministry specialist, church planter & lead pastor devoted to Christ and committed  to reaching today’s postmodern generation. His dynamic personality and bold message has touched the lives of people around the world for over 20 years. His mission is simple: “to inspire today’s generation to grasp their destiny and live their lives with reckless abandonment to the purpose of God.“

Because of Chilly’s active involvement in “local church community” outreach, he brings a relevant & passionate approach ~ he speaks from a pastor’s heart: lasting faith not momentary feelings. Truth spoken with incredible love, unrehearsed humor & attainable application is a hallmark of his ministry. His life purpose and mission is simple, yet profound: “living a real love, from a real God, in a real world!”

Whether in a ministry setting, on-one-on conversation or among students, he seizes every opportunity to see lives changed! Discipleship and evangelism are at the core of everything he does.

After two decades of ministry primarily aimed at teens and young adults, Chilly responded to the sovereign call of God (in 2004) and planted a postmodern, multi-cultural church in Hamtramck, Michigan – a city within the inner-city of Detroit. His pioneer spirit is demonstrated in the unique approach God used to launch this ministry. Equipping a team of young adults from across the US and beyond, Chilly raised up ministers/leaders while at the same time reaching a city entrenched in religious controversy. Hamtramck is one of only 3 cities in America that has the “Islam Call to Prayer” broadcasted from loud speakers five times each day. In the midst of this ominous backdrop, lives are being transformed daily!

On January 10, 2010, Chilly and his team planted their second Real Church campus in midtown Detroit! They meet weekly in one of the cities top music venues & night clubs! They are already reaching around 200 new people each weekend! As he puts it, “I’m living the dream … God’s dream!”

Chilly is the founder & lead pastor of Real Church.  He is also founder & CEO of Xmin Academy, Courage Coffee & Hope Works, Inc. He and his beautiful wife Netta reside right in the heart of Detroit & have 5 amazing kids.
