Recalibrate.

Ahhhhh, it’s almost the end of June! Yeah, ok, technically yesterday was just the first day of summer but WOW, it feels like it’s already 1/3 over! There’s so much I want to accomplish!  It’s during times like this that I strive to recalibrate (term I learned from my engineer friends) by life to make sure I’m being efficient, accurate and effective. I don’t want summer to blow by and then look back thinking, “I should have… ” — So, today I’m looking at my calendar, scanning through my journal and praying for clarity. I want my life to count.

Recalibrate-Be-Who-You-Are

I’m ready to write down whatever God brings to my heart. This will help me accomplish the things God is revealing. And, trust me, there’s some crazy HUGE things God is stirring in my heart right now! I’m seeking God HARD to discover His timing and strategy — no time to be passive… I don’t want to just be close, I want to HIT THE BULLSEYE!

This means it’s time to set some new goals!

A Goal is a Dream with a Deadline.

It’s important, for me, to be sure that I’m set-up for success by putting the right things into my life. Here’s a few things I’m thinking about today… please take a moment and share.

Let’s be transparent!

Let’s grow this summer!

Let’s be Courageous!

In the comments, number 1-7 and answer the following:

  1. What book are you reading right now (besides Bible)? Recommend it?
  2. What music album is your favorite right now? Why?
  3. Do you write in a journal? How frequent? How personal is it?
  4. When do you pray and read your Bible each day?
  5. What is your fitness goal(s) for the summer? Do you work out and/or diet?
  6. How much silence to you get each day where you think/dream/meditate?
  7. Who is your mentor? Do they know it? How’s do you pursue this?

Let’s WIN all summer long!

This was very timely Pastor Chilly Chills. -Justin
P.S. I’d like you to baptize me one day soon.

  4. 1. How to Survive a Shipwreck by Jonathan Martin. A must read as far as I’m concerned!
    2. Coloring Book by Chance the Rapper. Downright prophetic, speaking truth to power.
    3. Yes! Daily. Lots of work notes, occasional personal jottings.
    4. Twice daily: the Morning Office and Evening Office from the Book of Common Prayer.
    5. Still curating that “dad bod.” Walking ~ 6 miles in NYC every day helps!
    6. While NYC is great for walking, it’s awful for silence. The closest thing to “quiet” time I get is on the subway with my headphones on.
    7. Dr. Chris Green has been most influential for me lately. We chat weekly, but we haven’t had the DTR (define the relationship) talk.

    • Paul, it means the world to me that you still check out my rants. You’re super close to my heart. And, bro, the book “how to survive a shipwreck” is AMAZING! Would love to see you and your family someday! Pray for you often!

      • I’m stoked you’ve gotten your hands on that book! Jonathan has become a dear friend over the past few years – we met when he was just starting down the journey of his own shipwreck so it’s been great to see him come through the other side. Praying for you and your sweet family!
