For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Yep, most of us have known this little verse FOREVER, but do we live it?  Within’ these simple words are such powerful truths… not only that, they contain the character and nature of God. This is pretty sobering for me — the more I really study it word by word by word — the more I realize how UNLIKE God I really am… gulp.

I have made it my mission to IMPROVE in the God-Qualities found within’ this profound verse…

Here’s 5 things that MUST increase in and through me (maybe you too):

1.  Amazing Love … for God so loved the world316

2.  Unlimited Generosity … that He gave His one & only son

3.  Total Acceptance … whosoever believes in Him

4.  Complete Forgiveness … shall not perish

5.  Eternal Perspective … have eternal life.

Can you imagine IF you lived daily with these five characteristics flourishing in and through you? I really want to see this grow more & more in me!

A few questions (number 1-4 in the comments):

    1. How long have you known this verse?
    2. How often do you think about it’s meaning?
    3. Which one (of my list of 5) needs the most improvement?
    4. Why do we take verses, like this, for granted?

Please share this blog post with a few friends (use social media buttons below) and let’s ALL bring John 3:16 to LIFE in us! EXCITING, right?!

New Outlook!

Get His heart into your head
& see the world through LOVE.

heart in head

God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. John 3:16

We have a mission of love that God initiated through His only Son, Christ Jesus. Living this mission changes everything — in us and others! Allow the Holy Spirit to transform your thoughts and vision into the very purpose you were created. Begin to live out, with unstoppable passion, the adventure of love that you were created to live! And, suddenly, your world will begin to transform before your very eyes!

Striving to live His love,

Nicodemus“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. 18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. 19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20 All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. 21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.” Jn 3:16-21

In this MOST familiar verse (passage) some things are often over-looked:

  • Jesus was talking to just one person (at the time). He’s always had time for the individual.  And, this pharisee – sneaking to Jesus after hours – still mattered to Christ! …Our patient, merciful Lord communicates His central theme that’s so often lost in religion: LOVE. v. 16
  • Jesus was on a mission to SERVE & SAVE! And not just save ‘some’ but ANYONE who believes. He continually had time for the individual… still does! And, ALL can find grace in Him. v. 17
  • Judgement is our choice. Jesus‘ choice is to SAVEHe’s not a mean God, He’s a loving Savior. Yes, there will be judgement but not because He’s fierce but because He’s fair. He doesn’t send ANYONE to hell – that’s a choice we make… don’t ask ‘why hell?’ – ask‘why heaven?’ – we all deserve the first, but no one deserves the second! v. 18-20
  • IF we’re truly saved, we’re compelled to do what is right. The desire for darkness has been eradicated by His light. If you’re not seeking truth and righteousness BE CONCERNED! Like a moth at night, our lives should dance close to the fires of purity. Then, should we get too close, we will be consumed by Christ. v. 21
